The last few weeks have been busy behind the scenes. LL promoted the Simple Cache viewer as 6.4.14 however it rapidly became clear that this viewer had sufficient previously undetected issues that the official viewer release was reverted to 6.4.13.

The decision was taken to unwind the Simple Cache viewer from the history of files that make up the official viewer (I’m simplifying a little there to avoid getting into too much detail about source code management) which became notionally a 6.4.15 release (despite being otherwise identical to 6.4.13). In additional LL’s automated processes incremented the version number again so at the time of writing the next LL viewer looks like being 6.4.17. However, there is an outside chance that one of the other Release Candidate viewers will be promoted. These are currently all 6.4.14 too.

In the event that LL do release another 6.4.14 based on one of the other RCs we will hold our version number at 6.4.16 until we are back in alignment with the official LL release version.

In common with several other Third Party Viewers we had already merged in the Simple Cache code based upon its promotion to release status as an assurance it had reached acceptable quality. As a result we have had to unwind the Kokua repository too as well as reverting changes we made while it still looked like a Simple Cache hotfix release was on the cards. We also needed to preserve our other changes despite the rollback. In short, it’s been a very busy time.

Although there is no new LL code featured in this release there are a number of other new items in this release.

In addition, the RLV and FTRLV versions incorporate RLV 2.9.30.0. Release notes for 2.9.30 are here with original documentation for @setsphere here . Note that while the examples in the documentation will work as expected, there are some subtle differences in the syntax to use as described in the 2.9.30 Release Notes.

There are some other RLV changes beyond those listed in the RLV 2.9.30.0 release notes

All the above are also in Marine’s RLV release. Finally, a Kokua-only bug has been fixed which allowed some IMs to be sent or received when they should have been blocked by RLV.
